The Ministries of Calvary Baptist church are designed to give every person and every age group an opportunity to grow in the Lord. As believers we are commanded to serve and be active in our fellowship with the Lord and the church. If all we do is come and sit in a service, then we have only touched the very surface of what God has given us in this age. Typically, each Sunday we have Sunday school for all ages, our morning worship service with a fellowship dinner to follow, and then a final hour of singing and Bible study to finish the day off. On Wednesday evenings we have a Bible study, followed by a time of bearing one another’s burdens in prayer.
The purpose of each ministry of the local church is centered on three relationships. The first relationship is between the believer and God. The second relationship is between believer and believer. The final relationship is between believer and unbeliever. We desire to give God’s people the tools to develop each of these relationships to His glory.
NURSERY/JR. CHURCH
Our nursery ministry gives the parents a safe environment for children ages 3 and under while the parents can concentrate on the Word of God and serve in areas of the church. Each nursery worker has been screened by a thorough background check and approved by the church for ministry with children.
Our Sunday school classes and junior church ministry are designed to give those in grades K4-6th the opportunity to learn and grow through the ministry of the Word of God through music, object lessons, Scripture memory, and Bible lessons for their age group. Our church does not see this as a babysitting time, but a time where these children can be spiritually fed at their age level.
TEEN MINISTRY
The purpose of the youth ministry in the local church is for every teenager to develop a spiritual maturity through the knowledge of the Scriptures, to become dedicated to service in the church by using their gifts and abilities for God, and to desire to reach the unsaved for Jesus Christ. Young people are a vital part of our local church.
We minister to our teens specifically through our Sunday school class, Teen Time on Wednesday evenings, and various activities throughout the year.
MEN’S MINISTRY
We minister to our men through occasional small group studies, prayer breakfasts, and our annual men’s retreat. We also enjoy building relationships by working on various ministry tasks together.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY
Our ladies also enjoy occasional Bible studies, activities and ladies’ retreats. Each of these are designed to edify one another in the Lord’s work.
